Move to EngageIQ

Move your contacts from Brevo to EngageIQ

You can move from Brevo to EngageIQ with a CSV file: export your contacts from Brevo, then import the file into EngageIQ. It takes a few minutes.

1. Export your contacts from Brevo

  1. In Brevo, go to CRM, then Contacts.
  2. Load the list you want to move, or clear every list, segment and filter to export all your contacts.
  3. Click More actions, then Export.
  4. Choose the attributes to include, such as FIRSTNAME, LASTNAME and SMS, then choose a separator and start the export. A comma or a semicolon both work.
  5. When the file is ready, download it from the bell icon in Brevo's notifications. It can take a few minutes.

Leave out contacts who unsubscribed in Brevo (blocklisted contacts), for example by filtering them out before you export. Everyone in the file you import is added as subscribed unless the file has a status column saying otherwise.

From Brevo's help centre: Export your contacts from Brevo. Brevo may change its menus; their article has the latest steps.

2. Import the CSV into EngageIQ

  1. In EngageIQ, open Subscribers and choose Import.
  2. Upload the CSV file. EngageIQ maps the columns automatically, and you can change any mapping.
  3. Confirm where the contacts came from and that they agreed to receive email from you.
  4. Choose a Group for them, or create a new one, then import.

Addresses that cannot receive email are not added. The import lists each one with the reason.

What comes across

  • Names, email addresses and phone numbers.
  • City, state, country, plan and up to 50 other columns from your file, kept on each contact for Groups and personalisation.
  • Each person's status, when your file has a status column: people who unsubscribed, bounced or marked your email as spam are imported but never emailed.
